Implementation of a 30% market share cap on UPI apps is unlikely to come into effect with a little over four months mobile app development company left before the deadline, industry sources told us.

Back to the drawing board: Newer UPI apps have been told informally that the limit is unlikely to be put into effect, prompting them to redraw growth and investment plans accordingly.

Sources said that the regulator is of the view mobile app development company that newer players haven’t made any dent in the existing concentration of UPI users, giving it few options to implement the December 31 deadline.
